Bryan Little was the hero of the night for Winnipeg and the only shooter to score in the shootout tonight as the Jets defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 at the Wells Fargo Center.
The victory not only gives the Jets a 3-0 season series lead but also gives the jets/Thrashers franchise their sixth straight victory in the city of brotherly love dating back to last season. The term "deserved to win" doesn't normally mean squat, but that's just what the Jets did as they played hard, fore-checked well and were helped by goaltender Ondrej Pavelec when needed. This was probably the best road game the Jets played all year and should help their confidence level after a week off from the All-Star break as they continue this road trip for the next six out of eight games.

No Jets at All-Star Game
There will be no NHL player to represent Winnipeg at this year's all-star game in Ottawa. With the lower abdominal injury to defenceman Dustin Byfuglien and concussion-like symptoms keeping Evander Kane, who surely would have been Big Buff's replacement on the sidelines for the immediate future, for the first time that I can remember since 1980; no Winnipeg Jet will be partcipating in the 2012 NHL All-Star Classic.
Jets Come Up Short Against Canes
In a game where once again a slow start cost them the final outcome, the Winnipeg Jets only managed to show up for 40 minutes against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Canes won 2-1, dropping the Jets record against the them for the season to 3-1 in a game the Jets really dominated the second and third periods, allowing the home team only two shots in the final frame.
"This is A Results Business"
So says Blake Wheeler after the Jets lost their third in a row and their second shut-out loss in as many games. "And trying doesn't mean anything." This was not one of those games where the Jets didn't give it everything they had. They certainly did. Just as much, if not more than the last two periods against Carolina two games before. But lately it seems the more the Jets work harder, the less they are rewarded. A 3-0 loss at the hands of the New York Rangers has put the Jets back to .500 on the season at 22-22-6 and only five points from the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

Sorry About the Lack of Posts and Updates
But I've been out of the loop and and making a change in my life. I haven't been able to update any of my three blogs in the last month or so, but I'm back now and will be back on the horse updating the Jets on first season back in Winnipeg. Normally I would try and update any and all games or stories I missed, but there are just too many and their old news anyway. And really do you want to hear about their lackluster efforts of late anyway?
