Transactions
The Jets traded a 2013 third round draft pick (74th) and a 2013 fifth round draft pick (134th) for Michael Frolic from the Stanley Cup champion Chicago Black Hawks.
The sentimental pick for Jets fans, Max Domi, son of former Jet Tie Domi, was selected one pick ahead of the Jets first selection, Morrissey, by the Phoenix Coyotes with the 12th pick, 12th overall.
In typical Jets fashion for building this franchise into the future, the Jets are always on the lookout for character players as CEO and team Governor Mark Chipman and General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff have repeatedly said since day one. This is what they get with Joshua Morrissey.

Tkachuck and Selanne Picked the Best in All-Time Draft
NHL.com has since the beginning of June been ranking the top 30 first-round draft picks since the inception of the amateur entry draft began in 1963.
Two former Winnipeg Jets picks have made the cut placing Keith Tkachuck at the best pick for the 19th overall selection and a no-brainer with Teemu Selanne picking up the number 10 spot all-time.
I wonder if head coaches were selected (with Scotty Bowman, Toe Blake and Punch Imlach being the top three all-time, no doubt) where would former Jets bench bosses would rank? After all, Tom Watt and Bob Murdoch did receive the Jack Adams award (who would also be in the top five) for the league's best coach in 1982 and 1990 respectively. And of course former Jet, Paul MacLean winning this year with his great work with the Ottawa Senators.

How Has He Done?
In the two years since Kevin Cheveldayoff was hired as the General Manager of the Winnipeg Jets, he has made some minor moves (mostly for draft picks-that will hopefully pay off this year, as the Jets have 10 picks in this years draft-although in most of them in the bottom of the order, except for their first pick being #13 unless they trade up) like picking up Grant Clitsome, Eric Tangradi and Anthony Peluso from the waiver wire and trading away such short-stint players as Johnny Oduya to Chicago for a second and third-round pick this year and Alexei Ponikarovski went back to the New Jersey Devils after just spending just 12 games with the Jets last season. He was dealt for fourth and seventh-round picks in 2014.
What else has Chevy done, should he have done it and what will be the returns of any? SB Nation asks these very questions and delve into his best and worst deals as Jets GM.

Kane in Hot Water Again with Tweet; Goes Under the Knife to Repair Foot Nerve
The Winnipeg Jets Evander Kane has stirred up the controversy over his Twitter account again. Just as the vocal fever over his "money phone" tweet from Las Vegas during the NHL lock-out, Kane once again upset many with his latest tweet about the National Basketball Association Finals.
In other Evander Kane news, he has just had surgery to repair a nerve in his foot.
