Chris Mason has a groin strain and will not be with the team when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. Mason in relief of starter Ondrej Pavelec who was pulled after allowing two quick goals against the Flyers on Thursday, pulled his groin and will not make the trip to Tampa. The Jets are expected to call up goaltender Peter Mannino from the St. John's Icecaps.
Brett Maclean has been placed on waivers before he too is to be reassigned to the Jets AHL affiliate.
