After reports of interest from Swiss club teams, unrestricted free agent Kyle Wellwood signed a one-year deal worth $1.6 million to stay with the Winnipeg Jets and try to build on the career-high numbers he produced with the club last season.

The 47-year old Stanley Cup champion netminder feels he still has what it takes to play a regular role in theNHL despite his advanced age. Fans of the Detroit Red Wings don't seem to think so.
