Two teams with similar records, similar style of play and similar fortunes. Somebody had to lose. Tonight the Jets were the latter as their winning streak comes to an end at three in another one-goal game, losing in a close one to the Ottawa Senators. Although they never led the game the Jets played well, as did starting net-minder Al Montoya, who saw his record drop to 7-3-2 after being a winner of his last six, including his last five starts.
Mark Scheifele had a good, if not productive game, as he was all over the Sens net tonight. His linemates, Evander Kane and Micheal Frolic each had chances and were the best line of the Jets yet again tonight. The scrappy Jets outhit the Senators and were but the Sens had the better of the chances and in the end made the most of it, defeating the Jets in 4-3 in Kanata.
