After the morning practice injury to defenceman Zach Redmond that saw him rushed to a local Raliegh hospital for a sliced vein in his leg after being sliced by a falling team mate, the Winnipeg Jets played hard and fast as they as an inspired group and outlasted the South-East division-leading Carolina Hurricanes for a 4-3 victory.
This is the second win in a row for the Jets who are on a five-game road trip and their third consecutive road win. Captain Andrew Ladd scored in his 500th NHL game against the team that drafted him and with whom he won his first Stanley Cup.
Blake Wheeler came out of his low-scoring funk to notch two goals, including the winner. The Jets continue their longest road trip of the season against the Philadelphia Flyers, New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers.
