Short-Handed Goal Downs Jets in Philly

In a rare morning game in the NHL, due to the American Thanksgiving holiday, another short-handed goal by the Winnipeg Jets defense, this time it cost them the game against the Philadelphia Flyers, 2-1.  The Jets now hold the distinction of leading the NHL in short-handed goals against with five.

Jets Snap Losing Skid with Win Over Devils

The Winnipeg Jets ended their four-game losing streak by defeating the New Jersey Devils 3-1 in game one of their current six-game road trip.

The win gives Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec his 100th NHL victory and Mark Scheifele  scored his first goal since opening night in Edmonton.  That was 24 games ago.  Evander Kane also broke his scoreless drought by scoring his first goal in 11 games.

Jets Now Worth More: Forbes

According to Forbes Magazine, the Winnipeg Jets are now valued more than the $170 million that Mark Chipman and David Thompson paid for the club in 2011.  They are now valued at $340 million, 16th in the NHL.

Jets Lose Fourth Straight in Shootout Loss to Wild

It's not much of a rivalry when one team keeps winning all the games.  Such is the case between the Winnipeg Jets and Minnesota Wild with the latter defeating the the former 3-2 in a shootout.  That makes it 3-0 for the Wild against the Jets in the season series so far.
This loss ended a three-game homestand for the Jets who came away with a record 0-3 losing once in regulation and two shootouts.

Inconsistency has been the Jets downfall since arriving from Atlanta in 2011.  Maybe the bigger problem is they're just not very good to be begin with.

Jets Battle Back Again Only to Lose to Blackhawks

After once again erasing three different deficits, the Winnipeg jets couldn't overcome the powerful offense of the Stanley Cup champ Chicago Blackhawks, losing 6-3.  This is the Jets third consecutive loss.

The Hawks captain and Winnipeg native Jonothan Toews scored four points, including two goals to help finish off the Jets for the third time this season.

Flames Snuff Jets

In what most would agree was a gimmie for the Winnipeg Jets Monday night against the Calgary Flames, fully expecting the Jets to come out with a convincing two points given the way the Flames have performed thus far this season; things went slightly aery for the Jets as the Flames outlasted them to win 5-4 in the shootout.

A horrid night of officiating as highlighted by a clear-cut pick-play on Dustin Byfuglien resulting in a Flames goal midway through the third period was as clearly ignored as it was obvious.

The Jets are still playing the resilience game and showing signs of team cohesion after coming back from three different deficits in a game in which they out shot the Flames 23-9 in the second period alone.  They carries the play for most of the game, but just couldn't beat Flames rookie goaltender Karri Ramo.

This one should have been over in the second.  Another one that got away by the Jets.

Wild Snap Jets Win Streak

Even half of the crowd at the Xcel Energy Center decked out in Jets jerseys couldn't inspire the Jets on to victory as the Minnesota Wild beat the Winnipeg Jets 2-1.

The Jets now start a three-game home stand at the MTS Centre against the slumping Calgary Flames starting tonight.

Winnipeg Jets defenceman Zach Bogosian's condition has been downgraded from day-to-day to week-to-week after he was assessed with a minor groin strain.

Rookie Jacob Trouba is reportedly close to returning to the line-up.

Bogosian Out with Lower Body Injury; Redmond In First Time Since Leg Injury

Defenceman Zach Bogosian will be out "day to day" says Winnipeg Jets Head Coach Claude Noel, after Bogo suffered a lower-body injury in the game against Philadelphia.  He will be assessed on Saturday.

Zach Redmond will see his first game as a Jet since Feb. 19.  Two days later he suffered a cut artery on his right leg after a teammate fell over him during practice.

Jets Win Battle Over Flyers, Third Consecutive Shootout Win; Fourth Overall

With a feisty win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, the Philadelphia Flyers were tough to beat on Friday night, but Bryan Little played hero yet again, notching the shootout winner to give the Winnipeg Jets their third consecutive shooutout win 3-2 and their fourth consecutive victory overall.

Jets Veteran Fan, Stands on Guard For Thee

Second World War veteran Len Kropioski salutes and sings at Monday's game. If you don't know his name, it is Len Kropioski.  The stoic 93-year-old Canadian World War II veteran that salutes O'Canada from beginning to end and as a season ticket holder, has been to every single Winnipeg Jets game since their return in 2011.
Every Jets fan knows of him and how Len is perhaps even more sought after for interviews and photo ops then Gabe Langolois, aka "Dancing" Gabe or even Jets mascot Mick E. Moose.

Jets Come from Behind to Defeat Sharks in Shootout

For only the second time this season, the Winnipeg Jets have won back-to-back games, coming from behind down 2-0, 3-1 and 4-3; defeating the San Jose Sharks 5-4 in a shootout.

In a game with very questionable officiating, the Jets played a solidly as a  team as they have in the last four outings.  Even though some of the same problems that has plagued them all season manifested itself late in the first period and some in the second, they were able to battle through and focus to overcome the three different deficits secure a well-deserved victory.

Captain Andrew Ladd scored the equalizer late in regulation as well as an assist on Grant Clitsome's tying goal that made it 3-3 and then capped off the heroics by notching the shootout winner. Ladd now leads the NHL in shootout goals with four.

Dustin Byfuglien scored his first goal of the season and this time it was rightfully credited to him.  His apparent first goal last Friday against the Nashville Predators was later credited to Eric Tangradi.

This show of resiliency by the Jets should do wonders for them going into Detroit on Tuesday.  A win would make three straight victories before the Jets return home to face the lowly Philadelphia Flyers.  A potential four-game winning streak is entirely possible.

Blackhawks Apologize for Helmet Lifter and Head Soaker

The Chicago Blackhawks have apologized to the Winnipeg Jets organization and the NHL in general for the incident in which a Blackhawks fan took defenceman Adam Pardy's helmet off his head when Pardy was checked into the glass by the Hawks Brandon Bollig and it gave way, causing Pardy to be exposed to the fans.  Another fan poured beer on Pardy's head.  Both fans were ejected from the game.

Jets Blank Preds

The Winnipeg Jets are back in the win column after a spirited game against the Nashville Predators wherein Ondrej Pavelec secured his first shutout of the season with a 5-0 Jets victory.  It was Pavelec's 11th shutout of his career.

Jets Back in "L" Column after Loss to Champs; Pardy Gets Helmet Lifted by Fan

The defending Stanley Cup champions repeated their game-plan tonight as they were able to more than double up on the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 in a game dominated by the Black Hawks since the last two minutes of the first period.  The Jets are last in the Central division and are already fading fast.  There may be no need for panic, but if they don't solve their little early-season slide, they'll be looking at the tail-end of even the woeful Dallas Stars most of the season.  Although their opponent tonight was the Chicago Black Hawks and they do own the Grail until they don't, the Jets need a shake-up.

The Hawks have outscored the Jets in their last two games, 9-2 and have shown them why they haven't made the post-season in six seasons and why the Hawks are the champs.

Also, to add insult to injury; during the third period, Jets defenceman Adam Pardy was taken out of the play by the Blackhawks Brandon Bollig in the corner behind the Jets net and sent Pardy head-first through the glass.  While being helplessly pinned up against the boards, a Chicago fan stripped Pardy of his helmet and place it on his own head, while another spectator poured a beer over his head.

Slater Out Indefinitely

Jets End Losing Skid with Win Over Red Wings

If you want to end a three-game losing streak, defeating one of the league's premier teams is the way to do it.  The Jets left the home-town crowd happy for the first time in three home games (a span of 18 days) as they downed the mighty Detroit Red Wings, 4-2.

Jets Keep On Losing

They played relatively well, as captain Andrew Ladd said, but the Winnipeg Jets couldn't match the power of the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, losing 5-1.  The Hawks scored three goals in the first six minutes of the second period that effectively ended the game.

Chicago's captain and native Winnipegger Jonathon Toews was held pointless in his first game in Winnipeg since the Jets transferred from Atlanta in 2011.  He scored a natural hat trick last Tuesday in a 6-5 come-from-behind win versus Ottawa.

Winnipeg fans also gave former Jet netminder Nikolai Khabibulin, now a Chicago back-up to Corey Crawford, a standing ovation and chanted "Habby, Habby" for his past service to the original Winnipeg Jets when his face flashed on the scoreboard in the last moments of the first period when it looked like Crawford may have been injured after Jets winger Blake Wheeler crashed into Crawford when he came streaking down the wing and cut towards the net.

Jets Claim Ellerby Off Waivers

The Winnipeg Jets have claimed Keaton Ellerby off of the waiver wire to try and replenish their defence core that has suffered injuries of late.
