Jets Come from Behind to Defeat Sharks in Shootout

For only the second time this season, the Winnipeg Jets have won back-to-back games, coming from behind down 2-0, 3-1 and 4-3; defeating the San Jose Sharks 5-4 in a shootout.

In a game with very questionable officiating, the Jets played a solidly as a  team as they have in the last four outings.  Even though some of the same problems that has plagued them all season manifested itself late in the first period and some in the second, they were able to battle through and focus to overcome the three different deficits secure a well-deserved victory.

Captain Andrew Ladd scored the equalizer late in regulation as well as an assist on Grant Clitsome's tying goal that made it 3-3 and then capped off the heroics by notching the shootout winner. Ladd now leads the NHL in shootout goals with four.

Dustin Byfuglien scored his first goal of the season and this time it was rightfully credited to him.  His apparent first goal last Friday against the Nashville Predators was later credited to Eric Tangradi.

This show of resiliency by the Jets should do wonders for them going into Detroit on Tuesday.  A win would make three straight victories before the Jets return home to face the lowly Philadelphia Flyers.  A potential four-game winning streak is entirely possible.
