Jets Beat Wild in Shootout
After a blowout in Pittsburgh and an uninspired loss in a game they should have won at home against the Islanders and even after being outplayed in the second in this one, the Winnipeg Jets outlasted the Minnesota Wild and won in a shootout 4-3 tonight with a high glove-hand shot by Evander Kane, who got his career-high 20th and 21st goals. In fact Kane was involved in all four Jets goals with his two regulation goals, one assist and of course the shootout winner. A shout-out to goaltender Chris Mason is warranted as although he let in three goals on 12 shots, he battled back to perform brilliantly in overtime and in the shootout.
