A new study has found that with a Canadian dollar at least on par with the American one and a salary cap in place in the NHL, Canada could conceivably support at least two more NHL franchises.
Mario Lefebvre, director, Centre for Municipal Studies, with the Canadian business think tank speaking on behalf of the Conference Board of Canada says, "I can’t say that it would be a recipe for disaster, but I think that, given that you’ve got options — and one of them is not that far out in Hamilton — I like thinking that Hamilton is in a better situation than Toronto would be."
