The effort was mostly there, but there was was just too much speed and too much talent on the Pittsburgh Penguins (who, just before the game, acquired Jerome Iginla from the Calgary Flames) and the Jets went down for the third time of being on the wrong side of a goose-egg of this season, 4-0.
I actually thought the Jets were going to win, based solely on a hunch that the Penguins were due for a loss. It was the Pens 14th consecutive victory.
Al Montoya and actually played well, as he could hardly be blamed for all but one of the pucks that got by him. Winnipeg's defense was just overwhelmed by the likes of Sydney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and James Neal.
The Jets weren't bad, the Penguins were just much better.
It was Tomas Vokoun's second shutout of the season and 50th of his career.
