The Winnipeg Jets have acquired forward Tomas Kubalik from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Spencer Machachek.
Machachek spent the last seven games of last season with the Jets and was a near point-a-game player in that stretch until the Jets season ended just four points shy of the eighth and final playoff spot. Machachek was a fan favorite in that time and many were surprised that he didn't make the Jets line-up this season, or why when the Jets were struggling or had a lack of offense and /or confidence, that Machachek wasn't called up from St. John's.
There is word out of the IceCaps camp on the rock that Machachek had become a "problem player" that had developed a bit of a prima-donna attitude.
