The Winnipeg Jets finally did what I've said they've been needing to do all year to build some big time confidence-blow another team out of the water. They did exactly that as Evander Kane produced his sixth two-goal game of the season and Ondrej Pavelec earned his fourth shutout of the season as the Jets destroyed the South-East division-leading Florida Panthers, 7-0.
The Jets got off to a quick start with two goals in two minutes and two seconds into the first period. When the second rolled around, The Jets started to lose their edge and the Panthers had a lot of pressure in the Jets zone, but Pavelec stood tall as the score doesn't dictate the chances Florida had in the second period. But in the third the Jets scored two more quick ones, chasing Jose Theodore from the net and he was replaced by Scott Clemmensen who fared no better.
The win puts the Jets back all alone into the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern conference and now just two points back of Florida for first place in the South-East division and third overall in the East.
