After big wins against the Dallas Stars and Washington Capitals, there was talk that the Jets may fall into a trap of being too self-secured and have a "let down" game. With two unanswered goals in the third period, including the winner by Chad LaRose, the Jets allowed that "let down" game to happen, as they lost to the dangerously dormant Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 tonight at the MTS Centre. The Jets allowed 19 Carolina shots in the third to their own three. They started the third with a 3-2 lead.
It finally had to happen, but the Hurricanes ended the Jets home-winning streak at four, the first time this year the NHL's streak-busters of elite teams were on the other end of that feat. This was the Canes' third straight win.
